Have you ever tried to change how your life is going?

Maybe you were unhappy with your job, with your health, or maybe even a relationship.

You set goals and intentions to make things better, to transform your life. BUT, in the end, you aren't able to follow through with them.

In the beginning, things might go well but after a while, once you've lost your momentum, you start to keep falling off track.

I sure did! I don't even remember how many times I set new goals and intentions, thinking that that time will be different.

Trust me when I say, it's been MANY. And every time I fell off the wagon and didn't accomplish what I intended to, I kind of fell into a hole. I felt miserable and like I'ma failure.

Luckily, over time I finally learned how to set intentions so that I actually follow through with them.

I went from failing to stick to my intentions to finally mastering them with ease. If I can do it so can you because there's no dream that is too big. Whatever you want to achieve in life, you can.

To do that, it's so important to set your intentions so that they motivate and inspire you. Keep on reading for 5 tips on how you can start setting intentions that actually work!

5 Tips To Set Intentions That Actually Work

1. Get Clear On Your Vision

Getting CLEAR on your vision is SUPER important. If you're not clear on what you want to achieve in life, what you want to attract, you'll have a hard time staying motivated.

A vision is a mental picture of the future you want to create. It's meant to give you direction and inspire you to keep moving forward. A clear and strong vision will inspire you to take action.

Focus on every detail. Think about how you'll feel, what you'll see, what you'll do once you accomplish that vision.

And don't forget to think big! A vision that's too small might not inspire you enough to get through challenges and struggles. It might even limit you in terms of what is possible for you to achieve in life.

I like to think of my vision as my compass to a life of meaning. Without it, I wouldn't know where to go and how to achieve my dreams.

2. Focus on Something You Want Rather Than Don't Want

We tend to set goals and intentions around something that we want to get rid of. They are based on fear, like, I want to quit XYZ.

Those kinds of intentions are unmotivating and uninspiring. They're not helping you to feel positive about your transformation journey. Instead, start setting more positive goals.

Focus on what you want and not what you don't want. If you focus too much on what you don't want, you'll not only feel bad about yourself but you'll end up attracting the exact thing you don't want. (speaking about the LOA here ;)

Example: I want to feel healthy and energized. I want to feel strong in my body. Those kinds of intentions empower you, they don't remind you of what you don't have in your life but rather you fully focus on what you want.

3. Work Through Your Resistances

Whatever we try to change in our life, we'll always face resistance. We humans, we don't like change. Our brains make it pretty hard for us because of all the habits, routines, beliefs, etc. that are so hard-wired within our system.

That's why it's so important to not just neglect your limiting beliefs, your inner resistance, but rather to face them and work through them.

Limiting beliefs will come up along your journey. It's inevitable. It's your inner ego trying to keep you safe from the unknown. Become aware of your thoughts and identify what is holding you back.

By becoming aware, you'll have the power to rewrite them into empowering beliefs that help you grow. Whatever your thoughts are trying to tell you, it's important to know that they're just thoughts. They don't define you.

You have the power to design your reality as you want it to be and it all starts in your mind.

4. Regularly Reconnect With Your Intentions

Setting goals and intentions isn't enough if you actually want to achieve them. Reconnecting with them and your overall vision is just as necessary.

Whatever we're doing in life, the more frequently we do it, the faster it gets programmed into our subconscious mind. This is why often, we move quickly and mindlessly from one thing to the next.

Reconnecting helps you stay motivated and reminds you of your big picture. Intentions are about knowing why you're doing what you're doing. It allows you to derail the tendency to mindlessly do things and reconnect with your why.

Pause, take a few minutes to settle with your mind and body. Take a few deep breaths and reflect on what is important to you.

5. Detach from the Outcome

For me, this used to be the hardest part. I used to really struggle to not obsess about the outcome, about how my manifestations will come into my life.

When you set intentions, you're setting yourself up to manifest certain things/changes into your life. But here's the thing, if we focus too much on the outcome, on how and when we'll receive our manifestations, we end up blocking potential ways for them to come to fruition.

Instead, take the actions you need to take and let the universe do the rest. You cannot control everything and if you intend to do so, you're working against the universe instead of with it.

Trust the universe.
