5 Ways to Reconnect & Listen to Your Intuition

mindset self-love Feb 04, 2022

And we’re back. Well, I haven’t gone anywhere but I haven’t posted on here in such a long time.

The reason being is that I struggled with some mindset issues that have kept me from staying consistent.

I ended up in a negative loop where I kept comparing myself to others. I started to build up beliefs that have kept me from showing up as my most authentic self.

For the past month, I lost my joy in content creation exactly because of that. I felt like I had to do things a certain way. I believed that only by following what others do will I be successful.

And yes, to a certain degree it makes to follow other people’s strategies if they make sense for you.

And that is the key. Whatever you try to do, whatever strategy you try to follow, it has to work for you.

What works for one person may not work for you. You need to be able to listen to your intuition to know when it’s time to move on and try something else.

If you learn how to turn inwards, you’ll discover that whatever you need to know and usually look towards others for guidance is already within you.

We are lucky to have this intuitive guidance system but we need to be able to trust it. The more we learn to listen to it and follow its guidance, the more confident and self-assured we’ll become.

Gone are the days when we question our every decision. Trusting your intuition and acting on it is an act of personal power.

That’s what today’s blog post is all about. Keep on reading for 5 tips to help you reconnect with your intuition and actually be able to listen to it.

5 Ways to Reconnect & Listen to Your Intuition

1. Trust Your Gut

Now there are many ways your intuition might guide you. One of those is that gut feeling you get especially when our circumstances are just wrong.

You know that sensation you experience whenever something doesn’t feel right. This gut feeling is often one of the most obvious signs that your intuition is trying to tell you something.

Unfortunately, we might ignore those gut feelings, push them aside, and follow what may seem like the easier option because we’re afraid to fail, disappoint others, and simply say no.

We don’t follow our gut because we’re too scared of change even if this change is exactly what we need. After all, change is inevitable.

If something doesn’t feel good or right, it might be your gut telling you it’s time for a change.

It’s ok to change direction, to say no to someone. Be honest with yourself and acknowledge all the feelings that come up.

They’re here to support you. Listen to them and follow the universal guidance until your situation feels good again.

2. Tune Into Your Body

Your gut is not the only way your body can signal you what direction to move forward in. Our bodies can seek our attention in various ways if we’re not able to open ourselves to our thought patterns.

Our intuition will use physical signs to get our attention.

Do you frequently experience a stinging feeling in your chest in certain situations? Or maybe your hands start to feel tight?

If something does seem right your subconscious mind will trigger your physical body to pull in your attention. It’s important to tune in and pay attention to what your body is telling you.

The longer we suppress those messages the more severe the signals will become. You may end up experiencing symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue, headaches, nausea, and others.

What have you been experiencing in your body? What is your body trying to tell you? Could there be any suppressed messages from your intuition? What is it trying to tell you?

3. Be Mindful Of Your Surroundings

Pay attention to what is happening in your environment.

Being aware of what is happening around you will help your subconscious mind guide you towards the right decisions. The more it knows the more accurately it will inform your decisions.

Pay attention to the synchronicities in your everyday life. Be open to what life presents you on your journey.

When we want to manifest our dream life by paying attention to our thoughts and beliefs and taking action we also need to be aware of the universal guidance.

The universe supports you by sending you events, people, opportunities, and circumstances that will help you grow if you’re able to identify the meaning behind them.

Be more present in your daily life so that you can actually see those patterns and synchronicities and learn from them. They can be signs from the universe and your higher self telling you that you are on the right path by living in alignment with your desires.

4. Spend Time With Yourself

We live in a world full of distractions. Listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, scrolling through social media, having the news at our fingertips. We are constantly consuming new content.

When was the last time you spend time with yourself without any distraction? When was the last time you just sat on your sofa just with yourself or ate a meal without the tv on?

It’s easy to lose that connection to your inner world if you don’t spend time being present in the moment.

Start making it a priority to spend time with yourself and be fully present. There are many ways to do that.

Go for a walk without any music or podcast turned on. Take yourself on a date in your favorite restaurant without your phone, laptop, a book, or any other distraction.

Reconnect with yourself and pay attention to what is happening inside your mind. Reconnect with your authentic self and rebuilt that connection with your internal compass.

5. Do Shadow Work

Now for some of us, it may seem scary to spend time alone with ourselves because we don’t want to be alone with our thoughts.

To build that trusting relationship with our intuition and understand its message, we must heal and accept the parts of ourselves we wish would not exist.

Our shadows are all those parts we suppress because we believe they’re socially unacceptable. Those neglected and unaccepted parts of ourselves have us believing that we’re not good enough, flawed, and undeserving of our desires.

But, it’s not only all those negative traits we wish we didn’t have. The shadow is neither good nor bad. Our shadow also consists of the aspects of ourselves we admire in others by projecting what we don’t see in ourselves.

Shadow work can help us embrace all aspects of ourselves. It supports us in strengthening our self-acceptance which is essential for your to love and trust yourself more. The stronger the relationship you have with yourself the stronger is your connection with your intuition.
