My Morning Routine For Success

Living a healthy balanced life as a busy entrepreneur doesn’t have to be complicated and time-consuming.

Even small things can make a huge difference. Whether it’s taking a few mental breaks throughout the day, or getting up earlier to spend some time in peace, small things can indeed boost your overall wellbeing.

Because the thing is, we often think being successful is all about working harder. But let me ask you, how can you perform at your best if you’re not feeling well, if you’re completely out of energy? My guess is, you probably can’t.

That is why it’s so important, especially for us entrepreneurs, to not forget to prioritize ourselves and our health.

For me personally, having a self-centered morning routine has worked wonders. It improved my life in so many ways.

That’s why I would love to share my daily morning routine for success with you, hoping it might inspire you to create on your own.

Before getting into it, I just want to add that I’m a complete morning person, I naturally wake up early and I also like to go to sleep early.

So, if you usually go to bed late and hence sleep longer, don’t feel pressured to having to get up as early as me.

Writing about morning routine solely aims to inspire you to create your own. It’s not about how early we wake up, but about the things we do during this peaceful time.

My Morning Routine For Success

I basically have two different morning routines, one for when I’m in Bali and one for Switzerland. As I’m currently located in Bali, I’m focusing on the one I do here.

5.15 AM: I wake up, drink some water, and get ready to meditate. It always varies how long I meditate but I really try to meditate for at least 10 minutes. Oftentimes it’s more and sometimes it can be less. The important thing here is, try to be consistent and meditate daily (almost ;)) to experience its full benefits!

5:45 AM: After getting ready I go for my morning walk with my Bali dog. Human beings are designed to move. That’s why it’s important to regularly move your body throughout the day. It’s not just about getting fit and losing weight.

7 AM: I usually walk for like 60-70 minutes and once I get back home, I’ll prepare a hot green tea with ginger & drink a glass warm lemon water with apple cider vinegar to put me in a healthy mindset and get my digestion started.

7:10 AM: During the time my tea is cooling down, I’m spending some time journaling. Depending on my mood, I use journaling prompts, write a gratitude list or simply set a time and randomly start writing.

7:30 AM: I’m starting to get ready to leave my house. I’m getting dressed, doing my skincare routine, packing my bag, and all those kinds of things.

8:00 AM: Time for breakfast and the end of my morning routine for success! For me, breakfast is the most important meal. If I don’t eat anything in the morning, I’m quickly starting to feel nauseous and I’m having a hard time staying productive and focused.

Being lucky enough to live in Bali means, most often I don’t prepare my own breakfast as there is a huge list of cheap and healthy restaurants to choose from. After breakfast, I spend a few hours working from the restaurant until I head over to the gym during my lunch break.

Please note that my mornings don’t always look like this. There are days where I don’t end up journaling or others where I’m not going for a walk. And that’s completely normal!

Sometimes other things come up and we’re not able to stick to our schedules and plans. If for any reason you’re not able to keep up with your routine try to not feel guilty and simply acknowledge that some days things don’t go as planned.

Guilts and shame are counterproductive when it comes to health and wellness. For example, if you feel too tired to go for a walk, it’s your body trying to tell you that you need rest.

Modern society has put us into that all-or-nothing mentality. But if you truly want to be healthy and be able to live up to your fullest potential, it’s crucial that you listen to what your body is trying to tell you.

Be gentle with yourself and if you don’t manage to stick to your routine every day, respond to it from a place of self-love and compassion rather than frustration.

If you don’t have a morning routine already, I definitely recommend that you give it a try and experiment with different things to find out what works best for you. Everybody is different and so are our preferences. But no matter what you do, try to see it as a time where you are fully present with yourself.

This being said, try not to go on social media or check your emails before you’ve completed your routine. Trust me, it makes all the difference.

Do you already have a morning routine? What does it look like?
